The Great Stimulus Package (snicker) Debate

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

Here’s my contribution to the national debate over the stimulus package making its way through Congress: It’s hilarious to hear people use the phrase “stimulus package” over and over again, as well as the words “stimulate” and “stimulating”.

The possibilities are endless:

Our nation needs a big package to stimulate her economy.

That’s quite a stimulus package you’ve got there, you must be happy to see me.

First woman: Size isn’t everything.
Second woman: Then you haven’t seen his stimulus package.

President Obama needs to use a firm hand to get his stimulus package through Congress.

Barack Obama Wins!

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

A great day for the U.S.A.

John McCain’s concession speech was great. Too bad there was so much booing.

Barack Obama’s acceptance speech was moving and powerful. Many people in the audience were in tears. His demeanor was surprisingly somber, which I think speaks positively to his his character. He obviously knows that there are tough times ahead, and pointed out that the victory tonight is not the end, but the beginning of the hard work that needs to be done.
